What am I?

Perception is an interesting thing. I had a friend call me recently – an Entertainer – who was complaining that she had gained 10 lbs and, while doing everything which was supposed to help her drop the weight, hadn’t lost an oz. I asked her what she was holding onto?

Her response was, well, if I were thinner, I’d be more self confident and be able to change the circumstances of my life!

In my experience it doesn’t work that way. In my experience as we become more self confident, changing the circumstances, forgiving ourselves and others, look at things from a new perspective, we then have other things in our lives change. In the case of my friend, she drops the 10 lbs which she is holding onto as a protection measure.

In life we are taught that if we want something we need to do something then we will become what ever it is that we wanted and did! An example is I want to be respected, there for I will study and practice law and then I will be respected.

Doesn’t always follow. There are a lot of lawyers who are not respected.

On the other hand, if you start with I want to be respected, then I am respected, then match your choices and behaviors to that (this is the doing) should automatically fall in line. And the wanting is eliminated.

It’s okay.

When we set our agenda, and do things which support that agenda, we are more likely to get what we want. What does it feel like to be a millionaire? can you feel that on the inside? forget about the trappings, what are the feelings? having come from a working class background, personally I think it feels pretty cool! Do I feel gratitude? Yes. Am I excited? Absolutely! Does the idea of having a lot of choices get me gong! Definitely! Am I happy because I am materially wealthy? No, but it helps!

How does a millionaire think? If you don’t know the answer to this question, go talk to one. Or a dozen. Figure out what type you want to be. Then become that type.

So, who am I?

Until next time.
